On a quarterly earnings call earlier this week, COO Blake Jorgensen revealed that EA’s net revenue was $1.348 billion for the second fiscal quarter of 2020, topping the publisher’s original estimate by $33 million.
Cory ‘Gothalion’ Michael, who goes by the handle KingGothalion, is the third major Twitch personality to abandon Amazon’s streaming platform in favor of Microsoft’s this year. He joins Ninja and Shroud in bolstering the Mixer lineup.
Just in time for the holiday season, Microsoft is bringing Xbox All Access back to the market. Originally introduced in 2018, the program splits the cost of an Xbox console, Game Pass, and Xbox Live over two years of monthly payments.
Shroud’s departure from Twitch makes this the second time this year a top streamer has left the Amazon-owned platform behind in favor of Microsoft’s Mixer streaming service. Though Twitch is still by far the most-used service, Mixer has been steadily growing this year.
The UK-based studio brings Sumo Digital’s total studio count up to eight. Sumo North West is the developer’s third addition this year alone.
EA hasn’t published an NCAA sports game since a $60 million settlement granted college athletes compensation for their appearances in the games. CEO Andrew Wilson hopes a recently passed California law, which goes into effect in 2023, will make it possible to revive the publisher’s NCAA line.
The price hike is the first for Unity’s subscription services since they were introduced in 2016. Existing subscribers won’t be affected by the change in pricing.
Aside from his three years as CMO at Zynga, Scott’s resume also includes stints at DeNA and EA. Twitch COO Sarah Clemens describes him as playing ‘an integral role’ in extending the streaming platform’s reach even further.
Bigmoon Interactive, now rebranded as Saber Porto, brings its experience in racing, RPG, and simulation games to Saber’s diverse roster. The acquisition comes six months after the financially successful launch of zombie shooter World War Z.
